A poem for all of Year 6!

What would have been SATs week...

A Poem for Year 6 - class of 2020 🤗 🌈

Today is the day that SATs would have started,

The classroom set up and the tables parted,

The rules on the board, the display walls all covered,

Your workbooks away, out of sight in the cupboard,

Instead you are home, you’re doing your bit,

Protecting your families from getting sick,

It’s important right now, we’re in lockdown you see,

Being a part of world history,

You’ve all worked so hard, you should be so proud,

You’ve practised your SPAG and times tables out loud,

You’ve learnt algebra to the Nth degree,

And now the tests, they will no longer be,

Some may be sad that they can’t take the tests,

“Hip hip hooray,” I’ve no doubt said the rest,

Whilst the tests are on hold and you stay home this term,

Remember that tests can’t measure everything you learn,

And I don’t need SATs results to tell me,

How hard you have worked, it’s easy to see,

'Lockdown' Year 6, let me shout it out loud,

You’ve made all of us so very proud,

So please continue to learn, fill that brain up full,

And remember, we think you’re all wonderful! 💕

Missing you all!

I would certainly agree with you both, Mrs Patel and Ms Prevett! Our Year 6 class certainly do deserve a very special clap! They are a great class and have worked (and are still working) so very hard. Be proud of everything you have achieved so far, Year 6!

To the most amazing year 6 class, I totally agree with Mrs Patel, Miss Oladejo and Miss Prevett, I remember you all when I was your reception teacher nearly 7 years ago, gosh where has that time gone, it has flown by. I think about every single one of you now and how you all started reception feeling a bit nervous but it wasn’t long before you settled into life in school . We all had, so much fun ! What a truly wonderful year that was. I know Janet would agree with me . Now look at you all, so grown up and coming to the end of your time at St Jude and St Paul’s . I know some of you will be feeling really anxious about the future but I know you will all be fine as you have all worked so hard and even though you have not been able to do your SATs this week just remember you have proven what you can do already to us all. So be proud year 6 , hold your heads high and be confident that everything will be OK. We don’t know what is going to happen in the next few months but whatever does happen always remember that we will always be here for you all.x
