Y2 Christingle Celebration

What is a Christingle?

Christingle celebrations are named after the Christingles that are lit during the ceremony. During the service, each person takes a Christingle and the candles are all lit to create a warm, magical glow symbolising the light of Christ and bringing hope to people living in darkness.

In Year 2 RE we have been learning about answering our big question: How does the symbol of light help us to understand the meaning of Christmas for Christians? So we made Christingles as part of our learning to show that it is a joyful celebration that brings families and communities together to share the light of Jesus and spread a message of hope.
